Evidence-Based Dropout-Prevention Programs

NDPC-SD is committed to identifying evidence-based programs and disseminating them to our stakeholders. Descriptions of several such programs are provided below.

Additionally, the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) has posted a series of reports on promising dropout prevention programs, including ALAS and Check and Connect. These reports can be viewed at: http://ies.ed.gov/ncee/wwc/reports/dropout/topic/references.asp

For additional programs that have proven effective with general education students, please visit the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network Programs Database. Please note that many of the programs in the NDPC/N database have not been rigorously or scientifically evaluated, but they have had an impact on the dropout rate.
