The National Dropout Prevention Center for Students with Disabilities (NDPC-SD) is committed to ensuring that our content is accessible to the widest possible audience. In doing so, we have followed a set of universal design guidelines to ensure that content found on our Web site is accessible to a broad range of users.

These guidelines are based on the emerging work and recommendations of:

  • Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST)
  • CPB/WGBH National Center for Accessible Media
  • Trace Center
  • World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

We run our site through HTML validation programs to check spelling, assess image load time, ensure alternative text tags are included throughout, proof HTML design, ensure hyperlinks are accurate and unbroken, check browser compatibility, and monitor other accessibility features. We check all new pages we add to the site. As we are able, we will update our site with new elements which provide even greater access to information and resources.

A note about links to other Web sites:

When selected, links to Web sites outside of the National Dropout Prevention Center for Students with Disabilities will "pop up" or appear in a new window. We purposely designed it this way, so that when following links to external resources, visitors do not lose the NDPC-SD. To return to the National Dropout Prevention Center for Students with Disabilities website from another Web site, simply close that window and you will return to the place you left.

Please contact us with any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions about the accessibility of this Web site.
