Technical Assistance
A
major goal of NDPC-SD is to provide effective technical assistance
activities to "scale up" the use of research-validated
programs and interventions in dropout prevention. We believe
effective technical assistance is a systematic process for transferring
knowledge about dropout prevention research, practices that work,
and policies that assist states and their stakeholders in achieving
their goals and plans to reduce dropout rates and improve school
completion rates for students with disabilities.

NDPC-SD made presentations at the Oklahoma State
Superintendent's Conference for Special Education Teachers
and Directors. The conference was held in Oklahoma City on
September 21 and 22, 2006.

NDPC-SD participated in the
National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center's "Making the Connection" Forum,
which was held on September 20, 2025 in Denver, CO. The forum drew 148 participants, representing 41 states,
the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. NDPC-SD�s presentation,
"Sharing the Findings," focused on the process of reporting SPP data to various audiences.

a surprising view of why students don't finish school. It finds
that more than six in ten were earning C's or above when they
dropped out, and nearly two-thirds say they would have worked
harder if expectations had been higher.
